Improv classes at Creative Veins will help you build confidence and overcome stage fright, jitters, anxiety, fear of public speaking, and many other negative feelings associated with the performing arts. Improv classes also promote more effective communication skills, help you learn how to think on your feet, increase emotional awareness and understanding, how to affect and be affected in the moment, build trust, and work as a part of a team. Improv is incredibly fun, exciting, and an amazing creative outlet where learning and growth are promoted, risk taking is fun, and lasting memories and friendships are born.

 

Our Improv Sessions are perfect for:

1. Students who have no experience who are interested in trying improv,

2. Students who have done improv before, but are interested in the Creative Veins method,

3. Students who have taken our improv classes before, but want to continue developing their skills, and 

4. Students who are interested in having fun, trying something different, making new friends, and building confidence

 

Below are just a few things students will practice:

• How to work with others on a team as a cohesive ensemble

• How to develop a clear point of view in a scene

• How to choose a straightforward objective

• How to dynamically pursue your objective and change it

• How to develop characters & bring a story to life

• How to stay grounded and avoid the traps of clever dialogue and cheap gags that can take away from the authenticity of a performance. 

• How to become more comfortable on stage in front of an audience or in front of the camera
   

Please note, our classes are kept smaller in size for more individualized attention so each student has the very best chance of success. Because of this, they fill up very quickly.
